Agreed. I've found that with 'honouring life', you give a bit and She gives you back a lot. But with The System, you give a lot, and it takes even more, and what little it gives always has strings attached, and often nasty little unforseen 'side-effects' as well.
This hit home and is so relevant to what is happening in New Zealand right now. Happening all over the world obviously. A timeless tragedy.
I have to keep turning towards what is good in the world, to the little awe filled moments which are everything, to those who see the bigger picture. This gives me some sense of hope.
"I have to keep turning towards what is good in the world," ... so do I; and a good strategy I reckon. I find 'the good' by walking in Nature, by working on the land, (we have a small-holding here in Portugal) and by accepting the challenge is to grow in consciousness as the world's 'civilisation' goes through a degenerative phase.
Through poetry's quiet invitation to reflection, a seed of hope may take root where facts and arguments have hardened into certainty. I appreciate you planting such seeds.
Thank you for the comment. I've generally found that 'holding a question' leads one to insights (maybe over many years) and eventually the original burning question seems to fade into less significance - and a new question takes its place ... and so the journey of 'know thyself' continues. The question gets 'answered' as its implication(s) fully sink in, integrated into one's psyche over the years.
I like your notion of 'seeds of hope' (randomly also title of an interesting 1989 book on the writings of Henri Nouwen) which can live a different paradigm "in but not of" the current world where "arguments have hardened into certainty". Planting poems as 'seeds of hope' gives me a new way of considering their value; thank you.
Beautiful Josh! Who could rig a system that big? Choice definitely has a voice. We have all been hiding in a Trojan horse disguised as a gift for far too long. It starts with a ripple. Bless you 🙏❤️
An interesting question. I like to think that nothing is ever totally set in stone - our response as humans-with-choice has a voice and some input - but huge 'Greek Tragedy' forces are pushing in a certain direction, with strong morphic fields that smother good initiatives.
yep. and, in TRUTH aka INFINITE LOVE IAMYOUAREWEARE, we harm no one. This all-ways makes it easy for me to know beyond "knowing" what is TRUE. We are each only always the LIVINGLOVINGLOVE ... 1+1+1+1 ... = 1. evil is as evil does. TRUE WEALTH WE ARE IS and ASTHISFULLYWHOLLYWHOLEANDCOMPLETE we would never harm an "other". I wuv you Joshua!
Thank you for the comment. "evil is as evil does" ... yes ... If evil did not exist, we would have no ability to choose - because we would be humans would be robots who could 'do no wrong'.
evil is the opposite of LIVE literally and TRULY!!
All we need to know is that if something does not Honor life its a LIE, close it down!

Yes, indeed, Who? Mr and Mrs Greed and their many offspring.
I think you're right on that one, Perry.

Thanks for your poem Josh. xx

Nice to see your poetry here, Josh!
Yep, I'm recycling some of what I consider my better DUP poems here. Hope all's well, Josh.

Thank you, yes, indeed, it starts with a ripple. From the bottom up with enspirited communities we can start to 'rig' a different way of life.
must be those 'rigging pigs' posing as top dogs... or is it the Greek Tragedy following a script called 'The System'?
Another brilliant villanelle 💕🙏
